Scarlett SCARLETT has been singing ever since she can remember. She began her professional career singing in local clubs in her hometown of St. Louis, Missouri. Since moving west, SCARLETT has performed at numerous Southern California venues to standing room only crowds like the Gardenia Restaurant and Lounge in Hollywood, the Lunaria Jazz Restaurant in Century City, the Sky Room in Long Beach, the Museum of Latin American Art in Long Beach, the Long Beach Museum of Art, as well as several private events that include Warner Springs Ranch in San Diego County, and the Los Verdes Golf Club in Palos Verdes. Also, she's appeared in Denver, Colorado and Marietta, Ohio with the Dez Rubano Trio with whom she recorded three songs on Rubano's "AT'ZA JAZZ" CD. SCARLETT is a vintage chanteuse whose velvet voice can either caress a ballad or heat up a swing tune. Performing alongside her husband, tenor sax and clarinet virtuoso, Dr. Bob Finney and a trio of seasoned AFM professional musicians, Scarlett brings immense talent, sophistication, and integrity to any event where she appears.   Dr. Bob Finney DR. BOB FINNEY got his start as a sideman playing reeds with jazz ensembles and touring big bands such as Ray Anthony, Ray McKinley, and Ralph Marterie in his native New Jersey and New York City. With these gigs and a host of others, he financed most of his college education earning a B.A. from Marietta College, an M.A. and a Ph.D. from Ohio State University by "playing reeds." After he married his first wife, he laid his ax down to father and raise six children. When he and Scarlett married, he discovered they had one more thing in common-music! Neither knew of the other's talents during the early years of their marriage. While attending a concert to hear the super talented Cleo Laine and her saxophone playing husband John Dankworth perform, Bob thought, "Hey, we can do that!" So, after a 35-year hiatus, adopting the moniker affectionately bestowed upon him by his university students, DR. BOB FINNEY picked up his ax once more. It is almost as if he had never left it! His tone is lush and fluid, and he insinuates subtle intonations and melodic interpretations to the great jazz standards performed by Scarlett. Theirs is a match made in heaven! DR. BOB FINNEY, his pianist, bassist, and drummer are all top level AFM professionals with years of experience. They have played with some of the biggest acts in the industry, and their credits read like a Who's Who of the recording business. Donning tuxedos and staging their performances with classic bandstands and a predominantly acoustic sound, they are a must for any chic event where talent, quality, and class are paramount.
