The following review of "SCARLETT FEVER" appeared on:

Jazz Review.com

Think back to those thrilling days of yesteryear when music was theater lounges, ballrooms, and dinner clubs. Filled with the sounds of the times and the emotion therein. If you can't relive or make contact with those nostalgic latitudes, Scarlett and the Dr. Bob Jazz Combo will turn back the clock for you. With their new release "Scarlett Fever" Ms. Scarlett Productions rekindles those days, rejuvenating any opportunity of recall, with sultry tones and expressive feel. The sounds are sweltering with crisp resonance and sensual libretto allowing these standards of the 30's, 40's, and 50's to reach new levels of engaging audio.

On "Scarlett Fever" Dr. Bob formulates magic with his tenor sax, John Proulx sits back on his ivory keys, Bruce Atkinson embraces the bass, and John Ferraro manipulates the skins to round out this collection of knowledgeable veterans. However Ms. Scarlett is the focal point of this wonderfully appealing and reflective showcase.

Standouts on this disc are St Louis Blues, Georgia Rose, and Night & Day. Each in their own way grasps a hold of Ms. Scarlett's signature with ease.

"St Louis Blues" has that old nightclub appeal to it, offering a great listen for vocals of that time period. Ms. Scarlett's delivery is extremely suitable having that sultry tone and mysterious ambiance embracing the cut.

"Night & Day" shows off the poignant impact of Ms. Scarlett's range. The delivery and effect driven by her voice does wonders for this classic in a way totally different than what we may be used too, a truly pleasurable push-n-play piece.

Ms. Scarlett as good as she is, can go further in her talent. One can hope that she explores her talent deeper. For I believe that this artist truly has more to give. This is the only critique I have to offer. This disc is good and one can image how good her next submission may be as she explores the next level of her talent. If you can see her live, please do not hesitate go

For those who prefer the vocals that stimulate memories and compel emotion, this disc is yours to enjoy for hours on end. Many talents have attempted and failed to mirror standards, Ms. Scarlett and the Dr. Bob Jazz Combo have with "Scarlett Fever" accomplished that goal. This is a very cool and sultry time tunnel trip through some of the vocal standards that have been defined as timeless.
